What is the Tiny Desk AI (Outstanding) trend?
An AI trend that recasts the end of Charlie Wilson's 2023 office-desk concert, where he sings the Gap Band's "Outstanding" and bursts out laughing. It took off on October 18, 2026, when a TikTok parody put the week's losing college football coaches into the band and passed 2.6 million views. Now people put themselves, their friends or their team in the lead singer's place.
Tiny Desk is a trademark of NPR. This is an independent, unofficial Tiny Desk-style parody template. It is not made, endorsed or sponsored by NPR, Tiny Desk Concerts, Charlie Wilson or anyone in the original clip.
Tiny Desk AI (Outstanding) AI questions
Is this an official Tiny Desk or NPR product?
No. Tiny Desk is a trademark of NPR. This is an independent Tiny Desk-style template inspired by a public meme. It is not made, endorsed or sponsored by NPR, Tiny Desk Concerts or Charlie Wilson.
Who do I replace in the video?
You are the lead singer in the laughing close-up. Add a second photo and that friend plays the sax solo. The rest of the band are AI-made musicians, not real people.
Does it come with the song?
Yes. Your video comes with the original "Outstanding" audio synced to the clip, plus a silent copy in case a platform mutes the song.
Can I put a coach, player or celebrity in it?
Yes, for parody and fan edits, like the original coaches video. Do not present it as real, use it to harass anyone, or use it in ads or endorsements. No children.
Why "Outstanding"?
It is the Gap Band song Charlie Wilson sang at the end of his concert. The laugh in the middle of it is the moment the meme is built on.
Can I make it for free?
No. This video uses 100 credits; credits come in packs (100 for $9.90, 300 for $19.90, 600 for $34.90) and never expire. You see the price before you pay. We do not run free generations because every video costs us real compute.
What photo works best?
A sharp photo of one person facing the camera, waist up or full body. Avoid group photos, side profiles and very small images.
Can I use a photo of a friend?
Only if they are an adult and they agreed. Do not upload photos of children or of anyone who has not said yes.
Can I use a pet photo?
Not at launch. We will add pets once we have tested them properly.
